First United Methodist Church of Phoenix
Tickets: $50 advance / $55 at the door
The 2027 Arizona Bach Festival Season opens with a Baroque tour de force: Handel’s Music for the Royal Fireworks and Bach’s Brandenburg Concerto No. 1, along with selections by Muffat and Fux. The additional orchestral requirements of brass and woodwinds make this the largest orchestra the Festival has ever presented. Columbian-born maestro Alejandro Gómez Guillén is on the faculty of Arizona State University and makes his Arizona Bach Festival debut conducting the opening concert.

First United Methodist Church of Mesa
Tickets: $50 advance / $55 at the door
The annual all-Bach organ recital features Nathan Laube in an inspiring celebration of J.S. Bach’s 256th birthday. The mechanical-action organ of First United Methodist Church of Mesa was built by Dobson Pipe Organ Builders and installed in 1993. This glorious 3-manual, 34-stop instrument is enhanced by its wonderful acoustical setting and will be beautifully brought to life by this renowned artist.

Christ Church of the Ascension, Paradise Valley
Tickets: $50 advance / $55 at the door
Returning from Switzerland is Magda Schwerzmann, who amazed audiences at her last Festival appearance with Bach’s Badinerie from the Orchestral Suite No. 2. This year’s varied program takes us on a European tour of Bach’s time. She is joined by ASU flute professor Dr. Elizabeth Buck — two flutes, two artists, one spectacular performance!

All Saints’ Episcopal Church, Phoenix
Tickets: $50 advance / $55 at the door
The final concert of the season features Rolf Haas, concertmaster of the Phoenix Symphony, playing with and leading the Festival orchestra. A centerpiece of this concert is J. S. Bach’s Triple Concerto for Flute, Violin, and Harpsichord. The program showcases music by “Papa” Bach and his sons Johann Christian Bach (the English Bach), Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach (the Hamburg Bach), and Wilhelm Friedemann Bach (the Wayward Bach) — a “not to be missed” foray into great music, great players, and an astonishing family of composers.
